These flightseeing tours represent some of the beautiful areas you may wish
to explore on and around the "Charlottes".
Skidegate Inlet has been a centre of
commerce and culture since before European contact. This tour takes you to
the significant early communities of Skidegate, Sandspit and Queen Charlotte.
Our pilot will describe a brief history of each while providing awesome
aerial views.
This tour is a pilot's favourite! Fly over the San Christoval Mountain Range
where the coastal mountains reach an unbelievable state of jagged, scenic
chaos mixed with beautiful mossy alpine meadows.
Join us for a southern cruise through beautiful, tall second-growth timber
and through a maze of inlets into Gwaii Haanas park. Fly past Hotspring Island
and along east coast beaches past the ancient Haida village sites of Windy Bay,
Skedans, Cumshewa, Copper Bay, Skidegate and Haina. Whales and Sea Lions
are elusive by nature, but ask your pilot; he may know where they are!
With the right weather, our west coast tours are our most spectacular -
where the restless power of the open Pacific carves its mark into the rock shore.
See the victim of the might - the wreck of the 500 foot Clarksdale Victory
cast up on a rocky ledge. Finish the tour by returning along narrow Skidegate
Channel, gateway to the west coast.
Soar past the myriad inlets that make up this most formidable section of the
coast. Fly past Chaatl village and try to get a glimpse of a totem pole. See the
harbour of Kaisun village as you proceed along the desolate coast where the
seas clash with the cliffs and basalt spires. Return through Tasu Sound and
be awed by the contrast of tranquil waters and valleys as you return to Queen
Charlotte.
